I have just watched this fascinating Robert Zemeckis film  staring Denzil Washington  in his latist outing he plays a Flight pilot Whip Whitaker who a excellent at his job but is a chronic alcoholic,
devoid of any sentimentally we as the audience we're asked to do the work to place ourselves  in the center of this gripping thriller.

an not here to give the plot  away but really here to celebrate the handling of the subject matter, they could of easily gone over board and tried to pull at out hart string making him the victim of the insidious  illness, or make him a villain, but alcoholic are as varied and as complex as any self induced illness.

this film lays the landscape that Whip has to traverse, cumulating  the a scene that the who film is centered around central question can he remain sober for the most important day of this life?

how many more lie are you going to tell yourself before you admit your a alcoholic, quote: don't tell me how to lie about alcohol i been lying all my life.

anyone suffering form alcohol abuse will recognize them self this thriller about incarceration, prison, delinal, deception, one my be able to deceived many people but you can never deceived yourself and one day one has to return home to face the music.

no one can ever tell you what is like to be trapped in this decease, temptation at every corner in the working class estates. on filghts of plains, in clubs in pubs,  the constant reference to alcohol related activity. we even have holidays dedicated to the activity of drinking.. if you don't believe my try have xmas and new years with out a drink.

no one can tell you that being dry is like losing your best friend again and again every night. no one can tell you the you like god can resurrect the dead just one sip and she back. no one tell you you hate yourself till you get that warm felling.. then hate yourself in the morning..

this film really explores the internal dilemma and turmoil one goes through trying the change a ilife long habit. not only having the adjust the way you see yourself but how to reengage the world again.

ok am done but maybe i need to put the AA on Blast some time soon fuck a 12 step program but that another story...
